What if the music you love could become what you do for a living?

For CRAS graduate Justin “Kanobby” Keitt, a passion for music became the starting point for a career built around recording, engineering, producing and creating music.

Turning a Passion for Music Into Something More

Kanobby wanted to understand what happens behind the music, from recording and engineering to mixing, production and the technology that brings it all together. He came to CRAS to get behind the gear, work in professional studios, and learn how to record, mix and produce.

From CRAS to a Career in Music

After CRAS, Kanobby built a career that went way beyond one role in the studio. He’s worked as an engineer, mixer, producer, songwriter, performer and musical director, with credits that include major artists and projects like Snoop Dogg. He also took his skills to the stage as musical director and composer for the Off-Broadway production iLuminate: Artist of Light.

There’s More Than One Way to Work in Sound

Kanobby’s career shows just how many directions audio can take you. Recording artists can lead to mixing tracks, producing music, live sound, performing, songwriting and opportunities you might not even know exist yet. At CRAS, you learn the skills. Where you take them is up to you.
