Lauren E. Price

What if your love of music could lead somewhere you never expected?

For CRAS graduate Lauren E. Price, an interest in music opened the door to an entirely different world of audio. Today, she works behind the scenes in film and television, helping shape the sound that brings stories to life.

It Started With Music

Lauren came to CRAS with music on her mind. But learning audio meant discovering just how much existed beyond recording songs. She was introduced to the technical and creative sides of sound and began developing skills that could take her in directions she hadn’t considered before. One of those directions was post-production.

From CRAS to Film & Television

Lauren took those skills into the world of television and built a career as a sound editor and supervising sound editor, with work on projects including 13 Reasons Why, Running Point, and Stumble. Her job is about more than what you hear. Dialogue, performances, timing, background sound and countless details all have to work together to make a scene feel right. Lauren is one of the people behind the sound that helps bring those stories to life.

Your First Interest Doesn’t Have to Be Your Final Destination

Lauren started with music. It led her somewhere completely different. That’s what makes a career in audio interesting. Recording music can lead to mixing, live sound, post-production, dialogue editing, film, television, video games and careers you may not even know exist yet. At CRAS, you learn the skills. Where you take them is up to you.
